Tulane University selected SP+ University Services to provide traffic, transport, and event parking consultation and support for Yulman Stadium. To prepare for the 2014 inaugural season, SP+ worked with Tulane during the design phase to plan on-site and off-site parking and shuttle services as well as personnel and equipment needs for game days. SP+ also participated in neighborhood public forums to alleviate community concerns.
Once construction was complete, SP+ was selected through a competitive process to manage all fan and employee access to games. Because the campus and stadium are located in a historic neighborhood, the majority of parking had to be identified and reserved off-site with a comprehensive shuttle system. As a result, SP+ identified and secured access to more than 7,000 off-site parking spaces and hired a team of more than 90 parking attendants and customer staff. On game days, SP+ operates a fleet of 35 buses, running in circuit, to bring off-site parkers to the venue and then return them to their vehicles after the game.
